It is also a handy technique for realistic tears. I did a sci-fi piece in my late teens of a chick in zero-grav environment, half cyborg face (Borg actually...I was a star trek freak), and crying. Some of the tears were floating in the air, fat little drops. I used this precise technique and the result was very very good.
